Onchain lending,
in full view.
Venus Insights turns Venus Protocol's public onchain footprint into something you can read at a glance: what is deposited, what is lent out, the interest flowing between them, the treasury behind it and every market on BNB Chain — refreshed live, sourced openly.
Why this exists
Numbers you can trace back to the chain.
Every figure here comes from a public endpoint you can call yourself — the Venus API for market state, DefiLlama for historical TVL, fees and treasury, CoinGecko for XVS, and Venus's own BNB Chain contracts for the Risk Fund and staking. Nothing is modelled or projected; where a number is derived, the derivation is spelled out below.
Overcollateralised
Every loan is backed by collateral posted onchain, with per-asset collateral factors and liquidation thresholds listed in the markets table.
Rates set by use
Supply and borrow APYs move with utilisation in each market. Base rates and XVS incentives are shown separately.
Isolated by design
Beyond the Core Pool, riskier assets live in isolated pools, so trouble in one market can't drain the rest of the protocol.
Governed onchain
Parameters change through Venus Improvement Proposals. Every VIP, its votes and its outcome are on the governance page.
What is Venus Insights?
A reporting surface for Venus Protocol aimed at analysts, depositors and anyone sizing up the protocol: what is deposited, what is borrowed, what that activity earns, and how the treasury and XVS supply look underneath it.
Why only BNB Chain?
Venus earns more than 99% of its fees on BNB Chain, and governance has been winding its smaller deployments down. Every figure here — markets, history, treasury and protocol funds — is scoped to BNB Chain.
How fresh is the data?
Pages are rendered on the server from cached reads of each upstream. Market state and XVS pricing refresh every couple of minutes, daily series every half hour, and an open tab quietly picks up new numbers without reloading.
What counts as a deposit?
The total value supplied to Venus markets at current prices, including the portion currently lent out. Outstanding loans are the borrowed slice of that; available liquidity is what remains. Deposits minus loans equals liquidity everywhere on the site.
Is revenue the same as fees?
No. Fees are the interest and liquidation charges paid by borrowers. Most of that goes straight to suppliers; the reserve-factor share kept by the protocol is what is reported as revenue.
Is this an official Venus product?
No. It is an independent build on public data, not affiliated with or endorsed by Venus Protocol. For positions and transactions, use the official app at app.venus.io.
- Deposits & loans
- Summed live across every BNB Chain market from
api.venus.io/markets. Historical series use DefiLlama's daily BNB Chain TVL and borrowed series, where deposits = idle liquidity + outstanding loans. - Fees & revenue
- DefiLlama's Venus adapter, BNB Chain only; its series starts in August 2023. Fees are interest and liquidation charges paid by users; revenue is the reserve-factor share retained by the protocol; the difference goes to suppliers.
- Treasury
- DefiLlama's tracked Venus treasury addresses on BNB Chain, priced daily and grouped by asset type. Includes XVS held by the protocol.
- Revenue flows
- Events from the Protocol Share Reserve and its buyback contracts on BNB Chain, read through Etherscan's API and valued at today's Venus oracle prices. They cover interest and liquidations from every pool, flash loans, ERC-4626 vault rewards and Fixed Rate Vaults. Venus Flux runs on Fluid and pays outside the reserve, so its revenue comes from DefiLlama and is shown separately. The split between destinations is read live from the reserve's configuration.
- Risk Fund & XVS Vault
- Read from the RiskFund, XVS Vault and XVS Store contracts on BNB Chain. Only assets listed on Venus are counted, valued at the protocol's oracle prices. Staking APR is the vault's reward speed over the XVS staked in it.
- XVS
- CoinGecko for price, market cap, volume and supply; DefiLlama's price oracle for full history and as a fallback. Staked XVS is read directly from the XVS Vault contract on BNB Chain.
- Venus Prime
- Leaderboard, entry bar, cycle dates and reward totals come from Venus's Prime API. Seats, rewarded markets, loyalty multipliers and the reward pool are read from the PrimeV2, PrimeLeaderboard and PrimeLiquidityProvider contracts on BNB Chain, and APR estimates from PrimeLens.
- Governance
- Venus's governance API, covering every VIP submitted to Governor Bravo with vote tallies and lifecycle.
- Caveats
- Dollar values move with prices between refreshes. CoinGecko's public tier limits market-cap history to 365 days. Supplier and borrower counts are per market, so one wallet in several markets is counted in each. Nothing here is audited reporting.
